Welcome to the official site of the Alaska Association of Legal Administrators (Alaska ALA). Each member of the Alaska ALA shares a personal commitment to increasing professionalism of law office administration. Through the resources of the national and local organization, our members are provided opportunities for continuing education, insight into industry trends, analysis of emerging management techniques and a wide array of information designed with one purpose in mind – to assist our members in becoming better support to their member law firms or agencies.
Alaska ALA is an important support network for the legal administrator. The monthly meetings offer members an opportunity to exchange information, network with their peers and learn of important new developments through speaker presentations and round table discussions. Each member of Alaska ALA contributes to the strength of the chapter by adding his/her experience, abilities and interests to those of the other members. The strength of Alaska ALA is each member’s willingness to participate in and further the goals of the organization.

Our speaker for the May chapter meeting, Bill Popp, has spent more than 35 years in both the Alaska private and public sectors. As President & CEO of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, he sets the strategic direction in marketing Anchorage and Alaska to companies and global industries considering Anchorage as a place in which to do business and assists local businesses looking to expand both within Anchorage and Alaska as well as lower-48 and international markets. Mr. Popp is currently Chairman of the Governor’s Broadband Task Force and is a board member of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Visit Anchorage, Anchorage Downtown Partnership, the Alaska Partnership for Economic Development and Anchorage Concert Association.
Bill is an interesting speaker, he is the man in touch with the economic environment right here in Anchorage and Alaska! We are so fortunate to have him all to ourselves for an hour or so!
